Project Partners


The EEPOS consortium includes eight academic, industrial and public organisations from four countries located in different EU climate zones. They combine unique expertise in building services, building management systems, energy efficiency services, end-user needs and interfaces, renewable energy systems, monitoring and energy efficiency focused productivity tools.


Project Coordinator: Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT)

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a government organisation established by law and operating under the auspices of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy. VTT is a multitechnological contract research organisation providing high-end technology solutions and innovation services. From its wide knowledge base, VTT can combine different technologies, create new innovations and a wide range of world-class technologies and applied research services, thus improving its clients’ competitiveness and competence. VTT’s key technology fields include: Applied materials, Bio- and chemical processes, Energy, ICT Industrial systems, Microtechnologies and electronics, Services and the built environment, and Business and Innovation Research.


Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH (AIT)

The Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH is Austria’s largest non-university research institute. AIT takes a leading position in the Austrian innovation system and a key role in Europe as the RTO focusing on the key infrastructure topics of the future. The Energy Department favors a holistic approach to the environmentally friendly electricity supply, heating and climate control of the buildings and cities of tomorrow.


Ayuntamiento de Asparrena

Located in Álava, the town of Asparrena, which includes ten neighborhoods, has 1.600 inhabitants. Araia is the biggest neighborhood, with almost three quarters of the whole population (1.200 inhabitants). The town is in the northwest part of Alava, 35km away from Vitoria-Gasteiz, the main city. It has a remarkable natural environment. Aizkorri-Aratz  natural park and   Entzia mountains have quite important natural landscapes. There are several cultural heritage elements: Stone Age, with megalithic constructions, Middle Ages, with some gothic churches or mediaeval houses, and also industrial factories from the XIXth century. Nowadays, the industrial center is the main boost to the local economy, which is also very close to Alava’s main road.

European Distributed Energy Resources Laboratories e. V. (DERlab)

The Association of the European Distributed Energy Resources Laboratories is an International cluster of 21 research institutes performing activities in the field of Distributed Energy Resources and has the purpose to achieve a more environmentally sustainable power generation by supporting the transition of energy supply systems towards more decentralized power generation. The Association pursues its purpose by fostering and maintaining the exchange of scientific information and views and by training of its members as well as by organizing events for knowledge transfer. In particular, the Association provides information to politics, public administration and media to achieve the acceptance of pre-competitive and pre-normative research activities.


Ennovatis GmbH

ennovatis started its business as a software company in 2000. Presently it employs about 30 people – mostly engineers – at 3 locations in Germany. The main business of ennovatis is increasing energy efficiency of buildings. It develops and sells hardware and software solutions for collection and analysis of the energy consumption data. These solutions combine to powerful and cost-effective energy management systems which cover the whole life cycle of buildings.


Fatman Oy

Fatman Inc. is a Finnish specialist company, which provides real estate ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning systems) and automation based systems. We strengthen the business of various real estate operations parties – owners, service partners and users– by combining different kind of information systems and information streams to handy applications.



SOLINTEL M&P, located at Spain, is a high-tech SME specialized in engineering and consulting. Our goal it is to satisfy in an effective way the necessities of the environment on engineering, innovating and energetic efficiency of residential and industrial processes. Our Energy Efficiency department works on the full development of innovative systems for the generation, storage and use of energy at the building or district level. Also designs all kinds of installations for buildings, especially HVAC, domestic hot water and lighting systems. Solintel integrates and/or provides, wherever possible, renewable energy or high efficiency generation such as district heating and cooling or CHP systems.
